About Doug Burkhardt, Owner of Trusted Home Transitions

As founder and CEO of Trusted Home Transitions, Doug Burkhardt has implemented a unique, client-centered business model. He has worked in the real estate business for over 10 years . His approach at Trusted Home Transitions is firmly grounded in his understanding of family dynamics.  He understands families have enough on their plates already and strives to make their real estate sale, investment, or renovation process as hassle-free and financially rewarding as possible. Whether its coordinating design, color, or finishes, Doug utilizes his innate capability to listen to, understand and accommodate his clients’ wishes down to the most specific details to ensure complete client satisfaction.

Doug’s intimate understanding of the local real estate market comes from a lifetime of personal experience. He grew up in Baltimore, graduated from Frostburg University in 1980 and has since excelled for over 20 years as a leader of the Annapolis-area commercial, federal and state marketplaces, occupying executive-level roles in which he developed his excellent communication, negotiating, closing, and relationship management skills. Doug is extremely active in community and political development in both Annapolis and Anne Arundel County, from his former role as Director of the State of Maryland’s Office of Smart Growth where he was instrumental in establishing comprehensive plans for the development of the local economy that remain in place today, to having served as the former Chairman of The Sharing Foundation—a 14-year old non-profit group that works to improve the lives of low-income families. In addition, Doug served as the President/CEO of the Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation where he implemented technical upgrades and addition created outreach programs to our jobless community. When he’s not busy providing clients with superior consultation services, Doug enjoys spending time with his wife of 36 years and their two rescue dogs, Jake and Woodie, on Maryland’s outstanding coastline.
